Frequently Asked Questions
What is Isle of Neurodiversity?
Isle of Neurodiversity is a community-led charity that supports neurodivergent adults on the Isle of Man. We provide peer support, advocacy, and information to help people thrive — not just survive. Our goal is to celebrate neurodiversity and build a more inclusive island for every mind.
Who can attend your groups or events?
Our groups and events are open to any adult who identifies as neurodivergent, whether or not you have a formal diagnosis. This includes people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s, and other neurotypes — as well as those who suspect they may be neurodivergent. Supportive friends, family members, and allies are also welcome at many of our events.
Do I need a diagnosis to take part?
No. A formal diagnosis is not required. We understand that accessing assessment services can be difficult and expensive, and we welcome everyone who feels they belong in the neurodivergent community.
How much does it cost to attend?
Most of our support groups and events are free or low-cost. When we need to cover venue hire or materials, we may ask for a small voluntary contribution. No one will ever be turned away due to cost.
How is the charity funded?
We are funded through grants, donations, and community fundraising, with all money going directly towards running support groups, developing resources, and improving neurodivergent inclusion across the island.
How can I contact you?
You can reach us via our website contact form, email, or social media. We aim to respond within a few days.
How can I support Isle of Neurodiversity?
There are lots of ways to support Isle of Neurodiversity, and financial donations are just one option. You can help by engaging with our work — attending events, sharing our resources, amplifying our message, and helping to create more inclusive spaces in your own community or workplace.
If you’re able and would like to donate, your support is hugely appreciated and helps us continue providing resources, peer support, and advocacy for neurodivergent adults on the Isle of Man. Every contribution, whether time, voice, or funding, helps make a difference.
Can I volunteer or help run events?
Absolutely! We encourage community involvement. If you’d like to host your own meetup or event, we can help facilitate and add it to our community calendar. We also welcome volunteers to help with support groups, awareness campaigns, and administration. Get in touch — every contribution makes a difference.
